On the morning of October 14, the 2018 Changzhou West Taihu International Half Marathon was officially opened, involving more than 20,000 marathon fans from all over the world.
At 8:30, deputy mayor Fang Guoqiang fired the starting gun. The runners started from the north entrance of the Flower Expo Park, went east along the Huanhu Road and then returned from the Lanyue Road.
The event has three programs -- 5 km, 10 km and half marathon. In the end, the top three of men and women's half marathons were dominated by Ethiopian and Kenyan runners, all breaking the record in the history of Changzhou’s Marathon events.
