On April 16, it was learned from Changzhou Customs that in the first quarter of this year, Changzhou’s foreign trade showed an increasing trend compared with the same period of last year.
From January to March, Changzhou’s total volume of foreign trade reached 52.07 billion yuan, an increase of 9.2% over the same period of last year. Among them, exports were 36.85 billion yuan, an increase of 2.2%; imports were 15.22 billion yuan, an increase of 30.8%; and trade surplus was 21.63 billion yuan, a decrease of 11.4%.
In March, Changzhou’s foreign trade volume amounted to 16.39 billion yuan, a decrease of 7.2% year-on-year and a decrease of 1.9% from the previous month. Among them, exports reached 10.72 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 18.2% and a month-on-month decrease of 15.3%; and imports reached 5.67 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 24.3% and a month-on-month increase of 40.5%.
