Wujin district of Changzhou ranks the third place in China’s top 100 districts in terms of comprehensive strength, according to research recently released by People's Daily. This is the seventh consecutive year that Wujin has been named on the list. The first two places go to Shunde and Nanhai districts of Foshan city in Guangdong province this year.
The research focused on the high-quality development index of China's small and medium-sized cities, which is based on key indexes like economic development, ecological environment construction, business environment, and technological innovation.
Since the beginning of this year, Wujin has made new progress in high-quality development and the overall economic growth is better than expected. In the first half of the year, the district’s GDP was 127.06 billion yuan, up 7% at comparable prices, and the general public budget revenue reached 9.73 billion yuan, an increase of 6.2%.
