On November 11, the Changzhou National Hi-Tech District (CND) hosted the High-Quality Development Conference for Intelligent Sensor Industry and Technology Applications, bringing together experts, academics, and industry leaders to showcase advancements and foster collaboration and innovation in the intelligent sensor sector.
In recent years, CND has solidified its reputation as a hub for pioneering technologies, including integrated circuits, high-end automotive electronics, and intelligent terminals. Leveraging its strengths in third-generation semiconductor technologies, the district has developed a robust industrial ecosystem anchored by its Intelligent Sensor Town. Key players such as Aohong Electronics, Tonghui Electronics, Galaxy Microelectronics, Macmic Science & Technology, and Laisai Laser Technology—five publicly listed firms—are driving regional growth. The district now boasts a complete industrial chain encompassing chip design, packaging, materials production, equipment manufacturing, and system integration.
The sector’s growth has been impressive, with intelligent sensor output reaching 40.36 billion yuan in 2023, including 31.2 billion yuan in the first three quarters alone—a 5% year-on-year increase. Looking ahead, CND aims to surpass 50 billion yuan in output value by 2025, positioning itself as a leading center for sensor technology in the Yangtze River Delta and across China.
During the conference, key member organizations of the Changzhou Sensor Industry Promotion Association were formally recognized for their contributions. Furthermore, agreements for ten major projects in intelligent sensor development, technology innovation, and talent acquisition were signed, marking Longhutang subdistrict as a focal point for future technological advancements in the region.
