On January 30, it was learned from the press conference of the Municipal Bureau of Statistics that in 2018, the disposable income per capita in Changzhou was 45,933 yuan, an increase of 3,597 yuan, up 8.5% over the previous year, ranking fourth in Jiangsu province.
The average rural residents' per capita disposable income reached 28,014 yuan in 2018, up 8.4% after deducting price factors, while that of urban residents increased 8.1% to 54,000 yuan. Data showed the income gap between Changzhou's urban and rural residents continued to narrow, with the income ratio of urban and rural residents shrinking from 1.934:1 to 1.928:1.
In terms of consumption, the per capita consumption expenditure in Changzhou reached 26,863 yuan in 2018, a year-on-year increase of 7.0%. Expenditures spent on food, tobacco and alcohol, education and entertainment, and housing accounted for 23.3%, 20.5% and 19.1% respectively.
