Trina Solar signs cooperation agreement with CND

On the morning of September 20, Trina Solar Limited and Changzhou National High-tech District (CND) signed a strategic cooperation agreement to expand the city’s smart energy industry, build more integrated infrastructure and nurture new engines for energy development. Qi Jiabin, secretary of the CPC Changzhou Municipal Committee, and city leaders Zhou Bin, Fang Guoqiang and Hang Yong, together with Trina Solar’s founder and president Gao Jifan, attended the signing ceremony.

Three projects will be implemented according to the agreement. The 15GW ultra-high power module project to be launched on Trina Solar’s premises will fully upgrade its production lines with latest technologies to produce the most advanced 500W+ and 600W+ ultra-high power modules. The national key laboratory project to be established on the basis of the State Key Laboratory of PV Science and Technology (SKL PVST) of Trina Solar plans to apply for 1,000 patents and introduce 10 high-level leading talent at home and abroad in the smart energy industry. The Smart Energy Industrial Park will be established on the premises of Trina Solar with the purpose of investing in and introducing smart energy projects to build an ecosystem for advanced industrial development.

It is learned that the PV industry in CND has been booming in this trying time under the leadership of a number of outstanding enterprises like Trina Solar, S.C New Energy, and Fusion New Material. In the first half of 2020, the district’s PV industry achieved output value of 12.5 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 45.4% in profit.
