On October 9, the Jiangsu Changzhou Economic Zone hosted a conference aimed at bolstering the growth of the city’s No. 7 People's Hospital, with Deputy Mayor Pan Dongling delivering the keynote address.
As the only municipal-level comprehensive hospital in the area, Changzhou No. 7 People's Hospital has evolved alongside the expansion of the Jiangsu Changzhou Economic Zone, continually upgrading its facilities and services. The hospital recently opened the second phase of its emergency and inpatient building, adding 500 new beds and providing a modern environment for patients. Additionally, it has established the Eastern Medical Emergency Center, becoming the first in Changzhou to pilot a “police-medical joint response” system. This initiative has introduced smart command and dispatch capabilities, streamlined regional emergency services, and improved the efficiency of pre-hospital care, enhancing healthcare access for residents.
The hospital is also focusing on developing an integrated elderly care system that combines home-based care, community services, institutional support, and comprehensive medical-elderly integration. This includes creating a robust four-tier network of “hospital—elder care institutions—community—family” to better address the healthcare needs of the aging population in the region.
To support this vision, the Jiangsu Changzhou Economic Zone and Changzhou Health Commission have signed a framework agreement aimed at elevating No. 7 People's Hospital to the status of a specialized Eastern Medical Center within three years. This initiative seeks to significantly enhance the quality of medical services, boost the hospital's technological capabilities, and drive high-quality development of healthcare services across the area.
