The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology recently finalized the 2024 National Advanced Manufacturing Clusters Competition, naming 35 advanced manufacturing clusters across China. Among them, Jiangsu province stood out with four clusters, including the Yancheng-Changzhou-Suqian-Huai’an Photovoltaic Cluster and the Southern Jiangsu Special Steel Materials Cluster. Changzhou plays a pivotal role in both clusters, further cementing its position as a leader in advanced manufacturing.
Yancheng-Changzhou-Suqian-Huai’an Photovoltaic Cluster
This cluster, which encompasses Changzhou and three other cities, achieved a remarkable total output value of 370.5 billion yuan in 2023, representing over 20% of the national photovoltaic industry’s value. Changzhou’s contributions to the cluster include cutting-edge solar panel production and innovation in renewable energy technologies, positioning it as a hub for sustainable energy solutions.
Southern Jiangsu Special Steel Materials Cluster
Changzhou is a key player in this cluster, specializing in high-quality stainless steel production chains. As one of the five cities in southern Jiangsu contributing to this cluster, Changzhou’s stainless steel sector enhances the region’s capabilities in producing high-performance and specialized steel products.
With these achievements, Changzhou is not only reinforcing its standing in Jiangsu but also playing a crucial role in advancing China’s national manufacturing goals. These clusters exemplify Changzhou’s integration into broader regional strategies, driving innovation, industrial synergy, and economic growth.
