On the morning of September 26, Changzhou held the China Changzhou-Thailand-Viet Nam-Laos Trade and Investment & Tourism Promotion Seminar. Sasirit Tangulrat, consul general of Thailand in Shanghai, and Yu Zhiping, chairman of CPPCC Changzhou Municipal Committee, attended the event and delivered speeches.
In recent years, the cooperation and exchanges in trade and investment, tourism and culture between Changzhou and cities in Thailand, Viet Nam and Laos have become increasingly frequent. A total of 66 enterprises from the three countries have set up branches in Changzhou, while 46 Changzhou enterprises have launched investment projects in these countries. In 2018, the trade volume between Changzhou and Thailand, Viet Nam and Laos exceeded 3.8 billion US dollars, showing a good momentum of sustained growth.
Yu Zhiping hopes that Changzhou will use the platform of friendly cooperation between Changzhou and the Consulates General of Thailand, Viet Nam and Laos in Shanghai to promote cooperation and exchanges in trade and investment, tourism and culture, and accelerate the transformation and upgrading of local enterprises and their international projects.
