On October 25, a 33-member delegation led by Masami Ichikawa, chairman of the Japan-China Friendship Committee of Tokorozawa, visited Changzhou. Du Jibin, director of Changzhou Municipal Foreign Affairs Office, and Sima Shuanglong, deputy director of the Municipal Foreign Affairs Office, received the Japanese delegation and carried out an in-depth and friendly exchange.
Du Jibin said that since Changzhou and Tokorozawa officially became international friendship cities on April 20, 1992, the relationship between the two sides has remained stable. In particular, over the past three years, Changzhou has sent several friendship, art and sports delegations to Tokorozawa. In 2018, Tokorozawa held a ceramic art exchange seminar in Changzhou. It is hoped that both sides will further strengthen exchanges so that more citizens of Tokorozawa can visit Changzhou, learn about Changzhou, promote people-to-people exchanges and strengthen the friendship between the two cities. The delegates expressed their appreciation for the development of Changzhou and extended their gratitude for the efforts made by the two sides to strengthen exchanges and cooperation.
During their stay in Changzhou, the delegates also visited the Friendship Garden in Hongmei Park.
