Early this month, the industrial robot test lab of the Changzhou Institute of Measurement & Testing Technology obtained the national qualification. This not only gives Changzhou the competence for independent industrial-robot testing and certification but also strengthens Jiangsu’s competence for industrial-robot testing.
In the morning of July 25th, staff from the industrial robot test lab assessed AUBO’s robot against its technical parameters. Key indicators for industrial-robot testing include position accuracy, trajectory, and deviation.
Nowadays, conventional manufacturers have the urgent need for smart upgrading and industrial robots are being increasingly applied to the conventional equipment manufacturing. As a result, unmanned workshops and digitalized assembly lines are mushrooming. AUBO (Jiangsu) Robot Co. Ltd. in the Changzhou Science and Education Town mainly produces 6-axial industrial robots and parts with an annual production capacity of around 1,000 units and an annual output value of 120 million RMB.
Smart equipment manufacturing is one of Changzhou’s ten major industrial chains. And a number of local robot manufacturers are growing fast. Statistics from the Changzhou Municipal Commission of Economy and Information Technology show that the local robot sector’s output value in 2016 was 2 billion RMB. And Changzhou has already made itself a first-class robot-manufacturing city.
It is learned that the industrial robot test lab is already capable of testing robots against 14 key parameters and has received service orders from a number of companies. The Changzhou Institute of Measurement & Testing Technology plans to build 8 to 10 more labs in the future so as to strengthen testing competence for safety and key components like sensors.
