The much-anticipated Changzhou · Gonghe Week commenced on June 18, bringing the rich cultural tapestry, agricultural bounty, and scenic beauty of Gonghe County, Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture of Hainan in Qinghai province, to the vibrant city of Changzhou. The four-day event deepened cultural and economic ties between the two regions through a series of engaging activities, including exhibitions of local specialties, traditional crafts, and photography, alongside the Changzhou-Gonghe Archery Friendship Tournament.

Gonghe, situated in the northeastern part of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, is home to 25 ethnic groups, including Tibetan, Han, Hui, Mongolian, and Salar. It is celebrated for its strategic location, significant ecological role, abundant natural resources, profound cultural heritage, and breathtaking natural landscapes. Gonghe has earned a place on China's list of most beautiful counties for two consecutive years.

Since August 2010, Changzhou has been providing targeted support to Gonghe County. In 2021, this partnership was further strengthened with the establishment of an East-West collaboration between the Changzhou Economic Development Zone and Gonghe. To date, 130 cooperative projects have been launched, with an investment of 796 million yuan. Over 80 percent of these funds have been directed towards improving public welfare in areas such as water conservation, transportation, housing, healthcare, and education. This has significantly enhanced living conditions for local farmers and herders, addressing critical needs such as medical care, education, potable water, and transportation. Additionally, five groups comprising 68 officials and professionals have been dispatched to Gonghe to support its development.

The opening day of Changzhou · Gonghe Week featured a vibrant display of Gonghe's traditional crafts, including Thangka painting and Tibetan embroidery, as well as cultural photography, in the shared hall on the first floor of Changzhou Modern Media Center. Meanwhile, a bustling marketplace was set up at the Xinyihua Life Shopping Plaza in Changzhou Economic Development Zone, offering a variety of local specialties such as yak meat, highland barley, Tibetan embroidery, sea buckthorn, and dairy products.
