On March 29, the State Grid Changzhou Power Supply Company unveiled its latest Corporate Social Responsibility Report. According to the report, in 2023, Changzhou's electricity consumption surged to 62.509 billion kilowatt-hours, marking a 2.58 percent year-on-year increase. Industrial electricity usage followed suit, rising by 3.18 percent to reach 46.636 billion kilowatt-hours. The peak electricity load peaked at 10.16 million kilowatts, with renewable energy accounting for 44.65 percent of the total capacity. Urban and rural areas experienced minimal power outages, with an average duration of 0.8738 hours and 1.6978 hours, respectively, and both boasting an impressive 99.999 percent voltage compliance rate.
This disclosure of performance and commitments marks the 13th consecutive year for Changzhou Power Supply. Noteworthy initiatives undertaken in 2023 include the commencement of 20 grid infrastructure projects, culminating in the addition of 1.01 million kilovolt-amperes of substation capacity and 163.44 kilometers of line length. Moreover, the successful capacity expansion and transformation of two main transformers at the 500 kilovolt Wunan substation are anticipated to boost the annual power supply for two million households. Additionally, the implementation of 2,243 rural grid consolidation and upgrading projects has been pivotal in bolstering power supply reliability.
In a bid to foster energy transition, Changzhou Power Supply commissioned 216 charging stations and 1,073 charging piles in the past year, marking a 20 percent and 50 percent year-on-year increase, respectively. Furthermore, the addition of 1,279 households with distributed photovoltaic systems, boasting a capacity of 650,000 kilowatts, underscores the company's commitment to sustainable energy practices. Pioneering endeavors include the establishment of the nation's first new type of station-network interaction demonstration center, aimed at exploring flexible resource aggregation and control technology applications. Moreover, the launch of the province's inaugural energy panoramic smart operation platform, integrated into urban "one-network management," has been instrumental in supporting government decision-making and social governance.
In terms of service excellence, Changzhou Power Supply has delivered power to a total of 177 major provincial and municipal projects. Notably, the completion of temporary and formal power supply for 43 and 89 major projects, respectively, underscores the company's unwavering commitment to its clientele. Notably, the establishment of three regional power supply service agencies and the creation of four national grid-level "village grid co-construction" power convenience service demonstration points have been emblematic of the company's "customer-centered" modern service ethos.
