On the evening of September 6, the 2nd West Taihu • Global Enterprise Development Forum opened in Wujin, Changzhou. Over 300 global companies' decision makers, researchers and practitioners attended the conference. The keynote speakers include economist Hua Sheng, Alashan SEEE’s president Ai Luming, HUST’s former president Li Peigen, CCCPA’s vice chairman Wang Zhile, Jiangmen’s co-founder Shen Qiang, CAFS’ former director Jia Kang and SCORES’ former deputy director Gao Shangquan. City leaders Wang Quan, Fang Guoqiang and Li Lin attended the opening ceremony.
Wang Quan, secretary of the Changzhou Municipal Committee of CPC, said in his speech that the world is experiencing the biggest change in 100 years. Changzhou, with an open and inclusive mind, is actively integrating into the regional development plan of the Yangtze River Delta to further grow the ‘tree of happiness’ and become a star city of industry, tourism and management.
Wang said that he hopes the forum will become a platform for exchange of wise views, sharing of advanced information and cooperation among all parties. It is hoped that the participating units and enterprises will cherish this platform as a great chance to learn from each other, expand horizons, gain friendship and win business opportunities. Changzhou will adhere to the concept of ‘supporting and caring for the enterprises’ and strive to create a business environment with the lowest cost, the fastest return, the highest efficiency and the best reputation for all enterprises that come to Changzhou for investment.
The forum lasted for two days. With the theme of ‘Building an Open Economy and Sharing New Opportunities’, it set up the sub-forums of Youth Influence, Intelligent Manufacturing and Enterprise Development, The Status and Future of China and Japan’s Environmental Protection Industry, Compliance Promotion and Enterprise Development, Sino-US Economic and Trade Relations and Enterprise Development, Tax Policy and Enterprise Development, etc.
