On October 13, the Symposium on Magnetic Nanomaterials Research and Applications convened at Changzhou Science and Education Town, bringing together leading experts to discuss breakthroughs in the innovation and industrialization of magnetic nanomaterials. Participants included Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) academicians Pan Yongxin and Gu Ning, alongside local leaders Jiang Pengju and Zhu Zhengqing.
Bio-magnetic nanomaterials, a strategic research focus at the intersection of advanced materials and synthetic biology, hold significant potential across various sectors. Applications span inductive components, photovoltaic inverters, new energy vehicles, chip inductors, and resource recycling, paving the way for new avenues of industrial growth in Changzhou. In his keynote address, Academician Pan Yongxin emphasized the critical role of scientific research in expanding applications for magnetic nanomaterials, underscoring the need to accelerate their commercialization.
A key highlight of the symposium was the unveiling of the Bio-Magnetic Nanomaterials Innovation Center. The center aims to collaborate closely with industry partners along the supply chain, advancing applications of magnetic nanomaterials and fostering regional industrial clusters. It also seeks to deepen integration with the real economy, establishing Changzhou as a hub for the burgeoning magnetic materials sector.
The event gathered distinguished experts from the CAS Institute of Geology and Geophysics and High Magnetic Field Laboratory, Nanjing University, Fudan University, Zhejiang University of Technology, Jiangxi University of Science and Technology, and BYD Energy Storage, who participated in in-depth discussions on the field's future.
